"What the hell do computers have to do with his gayness?"
EGS Main Story Comic for 2005-04-08

Tony is a football player at Moperville North High School. He behaves like a stereotypical jerk jock and often picks on Tedd; Tony is also homophobic and sexist.

Over the course of the series Tony has suffered the wrath of Tedd's loved ones multiple times as a result of the way he treats and talks about Tedd, but despite this Tony is too stupid or too stubborn to learn from his mistakes.

History[]

When Tony was a child he pushed Elliot. Elliot interpreted it as playful fighting and thus they became friends who would play violently.[1] Other kids called them boyfriends so Tony stopped playing with Elliot.[2] He was quick to anger and once he attacked Tedd. Elliot hit Tony to defend Tedd.[3][2]

Tony's first appearance in the Sister story arc had him sharing a 1st Period: Drawing Intro Class with Tedd and picking on Tedd. In the space of a single page, Tony went from calling Tedd gay, to accusing him of being attracted to animals, to calling Tedd a lady, to just calling Tedd a freak. This event inspired Tedd to experiment with female options on the TF Gun, for the purpose of turning Tony into a girl as revenge.[4]

In Sister part 3 - Set Up the Pieces, Tony saw a genderbent Elliot for the first time. He instantly became infatuated with the feminine Elliot and bought the flimsy cover-story.[5] Right after that he started hitting on Elliot. During this page Tony claimed that Elliot ruined his (Elliot's) chances at popularity by hanging around with Tedd, and that people refer to Elliot as "Demon" behind his back.[6]

That same day during lunch, Tony called Susan a lesbian and was subsequently smacked by her magic hammers.[7]

In Sister part 6 - Scattered Pieces, Tony admitted to his unnamed black friend how bored he was without Tedd around to mess with. Tony then went on to suggest that Tedd is sexually attracted to wild animals.[8] After Ellen overheard this, she picked Tony up by the neck, charged one of her fists with energy, and threatened to hunt him down and "rob him of his manhood" if she'd ever catch him picking on Tedd again. Still defiant, Tony responded "Tedd? *Gak* That Purple haired loser? This is about him?!". Ellen put him down and told him not to forget their chat,[9] but as usual, he learned nothing from the experience.

Tony opportunistically picked on Tedd when he wore a vest (part of the women's school uniform) in support for Susan's campaign against the school uniforms.[10] Later that day the bloodgrem attacked Tony and his friend and Elliot saved them.[11]

Relationships[]

Tedd[]

Tony has been bullying Tedd since elementary school.[12] Apparently this started because of Tedd's feminine face. In fourth grade, Elliot kicked Tony's ass after he saw Tony hurting Tedd. This was how Tedd and Eliot's friendship started.[3][2] This was also presumably the first in a long line of moments where Tony receives a righteous ass-kicking from one of Tedd's loved ones.

Grace believes Tony has a repressed attraction to Tedd, due to Tony's reaction to seeing Grace as Tedd without glasses.[13]

Elliot[]

Tony was one of the first friends of Elliot before third grade.[14][1] Tony stopped playing with Elliot because other kids called them boyfriends.[2] Elliot has reasons for why gay-bashing makes him lose his self-control, and the way his friendship with Tony ended may be one of those reasons.[15]

Sandi[]

Tony is in a relationship with Sandi.[16]

Ronin[]

Tony has a black friend[17] who has yet to be named, but uses "Ronin" as screen name.[14][18] He tries to offset Tony's negative attitude.[19][20]
