The review show is an internet video show where Susan and Elliot review movies for Tensaided's video rental store.

Mr. Tensaided originally proposed that Susan and Elliot make an internet review show[1] when he noticed that customers at his rental store often hired movies that they overheard Susan and Elliot talking about.[2][3] Susan and Elliot reluctantly agreed to the request.[4]

Before they started making the show Susan and Elliot watched other internet review shows for inspiration but ended up deciding that theirs wouldn't be like them.[5] The first episode reviewed Sporkman Begins, an unintentionally comical adaptation of a webcomic.[6][7] During the recording Susan also talked about why she likes Star Trek[8] but said that it was too personal for the review.[9]

Susan and Elliot continued making the review show and they often talked about Star Trek.[10] The show made Elliot and Susan minor celebrities.[11] Its fans include Diane[12][13] (who was introduced to the show by Rhoda[14][15] because Diane was interested in dating Elliot[16]), Ashley[17][18][19] and Tom.[20][21] Some viewers think that Susan and Elliot are in love with each other,[22][23] an impression that was not completely wrong.[24]

In one episode Elliot announced his breakup with Sarah,[25] who showed up for a comedy sketch where she threw a couch at Elliot.[26] This resulted in several fans approaching Sarah at school.[27][28][29] Ronin speculated in the comment section of the video that the breakup was because Elliot is gay,[30][31] which spread as a rumor that assumed that assumption to be confirmed[32][33] despite Diane arguing against it in the same comment section.[34][35]

In a recent episode, they break from tradition by centering the episode on discussing what people mean when they say someone isn't a "real fan" of something, rather than reviewing a movie.[36] They come to the fundamental conclusions that gatekeeping is bad and defining your terms is good.[37] Months later, a shadowy figure complains online about fandom gatekeeping of some unspecified show. Someone who says they are friends of Susan and Elliot reads this comment and recommend this video to them. The shadowy figure checks out the video, exclaims about their strong agreement, then momentously shares the video publicly with their own following.[38]
