This page's question is why it was considered surprising that Vladia doesn't have antennae even though Grace doesn't have them in some of her forms and the answer is that Grace can morph away her antennae because she has been exposed to clone forms and can combine forms because of her lespuko ancestry, which doesn't apply to Vladia. Amanda also says that Grace's shapeshifting changed when she was first transformed by the transformation gun, which Dan forgot to explain in Painted Black.

Amanda "Why was it considered a big deal that 'Vladia' doesn't have cheek antennae? Grace can morph hers away just fine.
Lisa (off-panel) I'm going to find a comb or an outfit that goes with this hair.
Amanda (voice-over of image of Grace with her antennae tucked behind her ears and Sarah wearing her beret like in Shade, Part 1: Comic for Sunday, Mar 3, 2002) Grace is able to morph her antennae away, but she wasn't always able to, and the reason she's able to now doesn't apply to Vladia. As we mentioned in a previous Q&A, it takes a clone form transformation to morph away seyunolu antennae.
Amanda (voice-over of image of Grace in her Claire form) Grace, being part lespuko, can mix and match forms, which means that she gained the potential to morph away her antennae while in various forms once she had the Claire clone form.
Amanda (voice-over of image of Vladia with her shadow shaped like Vlad) Vladia is a greater chimaera (a seyunolu who is part uryuom), but that mostly just mean that she has antennae and can gain forms from cosmetic morph devices (CMDs) like the transformation gun. She cannot mix and match like Grace can.
Amanda It's also worth mentioning that greter chimaeras are born with imperfect morphing abilities that are corrected once they've been transformed at least once by a CMD, which explains why Grace morphs differently mow than she did at the start of the comic.
Amanda Of course, this is all old--
--What? Oh.
Amanda Apparently, Dan forgot to explain that last part waaay back in Painted Black.
Yay new info?
