"There are deeds that should not be forgiven, malicious acts performed without remorse for which vengeance should be called upon the perpetrator."
—Noah to Elliot[7]

Noah is an androgynous seyunolu boy with magical abilities, who is Adrian Raven's adopted son (he may not be legally adopted) and Melissa's boyfriend. Along with his slender figure, he has long, blonde hair that usually conceals his left eye.

History[]

Backstory[]

Noah's father was a member of the cult that made Damien to fulfil the prophecy of the master of fire[8][5] and he never knew his mother (possibly she died early).[8] During his childhood Noah disliked having to keep his seyunolu nature secret.[5] When Damien murdered the other cultists for doubting his ability[9] Noah escaped and Adrian Raven took him in.[10] Noah devoted his life to training to avenge his father[11] and Raven sometimes had to dissuade him from foolish shortcuts to power.[12] Noah later blamed secrecy for his parents' death[13] but it is unclear why.

Early appearances and mentions[]

On March 3, after Damien's death, a cloaked figure, later revealed to be Noah,[14] talked about Damien's death at his father's tombstone.[15] He mentioned that the only thing he knew about Damien's killer was that she is a part-squirrel seyunolu and a "woman of Grace".[11]

When Diane asked Nanase to sit with her on Monday, March 4, Melissa complained to Noah, believing that she wanted to date Justin. Noah pointed out to her that Diane was talking to Nanase.[16] When Melissa encountered Justin at the mall later that day Noah advised her not to pursue Justin any further.[17]

When Nanase told Ellen about Raven she mentioned "this one boy with long, blonde hair" (presumably Noah) as one of his chosen favorites.[18]

Indiana Elliot[]

On March 31 Noah met Elliot when they were shopping for the last TV stand at the Swedekea furniture store.[19] The two raced through the store to reach the TV set first.[20] Noah barely lost the race to Elliot, but the TV set had already been sold[21] and the store would get another shipment soon.[22] They spent a lunch getting to know each other better,[6] and agreed to meet again to get their TV stands and play basketball.[23] Noah mentioned that he has a girlfriend who makes no secret of her continued pining for someone else.[24] After the two parted, Noah informed Raven of the encounter.[23]

New And Old Flames[]

On Wednesday, April 10, Noah tried to speak with Justin about the fire summon attack on the previous day in order to find out the identity of the summoner.[25] Justin assumed that it was about Melissa, despite Noah's insistence that it was about something else.[26]

When Elliot saw Noah with Melissa he couldn't hide his anger with her.[27][28] Noah told Elliot why Melissa outed Justin[29] and that her inability to move on was because Justin wouldn't forgive her.[7] When Elliot told Noah that he rescued Justin from a fight Noah was impressed since he had heard about that fight and saw the mysterious stranger who rescued Justin as a hero.[30]

He told Elliot that he needed to talk to Elliot about something important.[31] On the next day, after Ellen persuaded Justin to talk to Noah[32] Noah tried to go somewhere private with Justin to ask his question but then he saw a shade and chased it.[33] Noah later discussed the matter with Raven.[34] Adrian was frustrated that Noah hadn't managed to speak to Justin yet, and reminded Noah that "asking Justin those questions [was] important". When Adrian suggested speaking to Justin himself, Noah exclaimed "There's no need to take that risk!", and insisted that he could manage it himself.[35]

Noah finally managed to ask Justin about the fire summon attack at Salty Crackers Comics on Friday, April 12[25] but Justin didn't have any useful information.[36] Then they heard Melissa scream to call Noah's attention to a summoned dragon[37][38] that had knocked out Cheerleadra.[39] Noah attacked the dragon[40] and instructed Justin and Melissa to carry Cheerleadra to safety while he fought the dragon.[41] When he was fighting the dragon he broke its neck and the dragon immediately healed. Noah's surprise distacted him enough to allow the dragon to attack him.[42] Noah was stunned but Justin saved him by kicking away the dragon and told him that the dragon was summoned at the Anime Style Martial Arts Dojo.[43] Noah, realizing that the dragon was invulnerable, flew away to the dojo to take out the summoner.[44] The dragon followed him[45] and shot a fireball toward him when he entered the dojo[46] but the dragon and the fireball were unsummoned before the fireball struck him because Grace had defeated the summoner, Dex.[47]

Noah recognized Grace from school and realized that she was the woman of Grace.[14] Grace told him that Dex had been manipulated by magic power from somewhere else. Noah asked if he wore jewelry and Grace found a pendant on his chest. Noah recognized the pendant as the conduit of Dex's power.[48] He also found a magic mark on Dex's chest[49] and removed the pendant. When Greg mentioned that Dex had talked about bringing an apocalypse Noah pointed out that "apocalypse" originally meant revealing.[50] When Dex woke up Grace introduced herself as Shade Tail, which caused Noah to fall to the floor in surprise.[51] He asked Dex where he got the pendant and Dex answered that he didn't remember. Noah explained how the pendant worked.[12] He told Dex that he summoned the monsters and asked who gave him the magic mark. Dex answered that he didn't know, which Noah found shocking since he thought that magic marks can only be given with the marked person's knowledge and consent. When Dex summoned his fairy[52] Noah said that it used the same spell as the other summons.[53] Grace told Noah that someone she knew could use the pendant to figure out who influenced Dex so he let her keep it.[54] Then he left to avoid being seen by others.[54][55]

When Noah told Raven about the pendant Raven told him that an immortal did it[56] in order to reveal magic to the world. Noah pointed out that the plan was too complicated and Raven explained that the immortal found assured success boring (he didn't mention that he was referring to his own mother, Pandora) and also said that they didn't know the actual plan and speculated that the shade was summoned in order to ensure Noah's presence during the attack.[57]

Death Sentence[]

On Monday, May 13, when Raven told Noah that Grace would visit him (to save the giant boar, but he didn't mention that) Noah told him that Grace fought at the dojo (it's implied that he previously told Raven that there was a furry seyunolu but not that she was Grace) and that she killed Damien, which surprised Raven.[58] They discussed the evidence that Grace is the part-squirrel seyunolu who killed Damien, including that she called herself Shade Tail, which is a translation of the Greek etymology of the word squirrel.[59] Noah wanted to stay at their house to meet Grace but Raven insisted that he should stay away[60] to keep Noah's heritage secret.[58]

Sister 3[]

Noah overheard Adrian Raven calling out his mother for her actions on a Sunday in January, when she asked him to remove the dam on the flow of magic.[61][62] When Adrian asked Noah if he thought less of him for his conflict with his mother[63] Noah said that he could sympathize with him because he feels similar about his father. He also noted that Adrian mentioned seeing him as family.[8]

Noah later considered telling Adrian that he wanted to call him dad but decided that he shouldn't remind Adrian that he was believed to be unable to father children of his own.[10] However, on the following Saturday, after Adrian's mother died, Noah accidentally called him dad and Adrian was happy to call him his son.[64]

Brother and Father[]

About a month later Noah heard Diane growl at Moperville South High School[65] and followed her.[66] When Diane learned that Adrian Raven had retired, she became angry and took her anger out on Noah.[67] Noah fled but Diane caught him.[68] He told her that he is Raven's adopted son, making him Diane's brother,[69] and offered to tell her where Raven had gone. Diane's girlfriend Lucy saw them and was angry[70] as she assumed that he was an ex-boyfriend who was bothering Diane. Noah told Lucy that Diane had learned that her father was a former teacher at the school.[71] Lucy and Diane became angry with Noah for revealing Diane's secret to Lucy, so Noah fled.[72] Later Diane approached Noah to ask him about his food situation[73][74] and decided to go to his house to make sure that he had food. Noah cried cried tears of joy over the thought of Diane caring about him.[75] and hugged her.[76]

Diane indeed visited Noah later that day.[77] Before Noah told Diane where Raven had gone, he told her about Abraham's attack on the school,[78] how Abraham made the Dewitchery Diamond,[79] about werewolves,[80] and how Abraham would hunt down duplicates made by the Dewitchery Diamond.[81] Then he told her that Raven and Abraham were on a mission to apprehend a ghostlike being who had used the Dewitchery Diamond to get a physical body[82] and that Raven would later teach at Moperville University.[83] As Diane got angry about that,[84] Noah asked her if she disliked Raven.[85] Diane said that it felt weird to have a secret second family, like betraying her adoptive family and Noah suggested that she should tell her parents everything.[86] Diane didn't want to tell her parents[87] and Noah suggested that she wait until Raven came home before telling her parents.[88]

Then Diane wanted to cook dinner for Noah but Noah suggested that they should order pizza instead in order to have more time to get to know each other.[89] Noah talked about The Simpsons trivia. Before Diane went home, Noah added Raven's phone number to Diane's phone.[90]

Relationships[]

Adrian Raven[]

Noah has lived at Adrian Raven's house since his father's death and they see each other as family.[8][10][64]

Melissa[]

Melissa is Noah's girlfriend[91] even though she makes no secret of her continued pining for Justin.[24] He wanted Justin to forgive her for outing him.[7]

Damien[]

Damien killed Noah's father and the other cultists so Noah devoted his life to avenging his father.[11][8]

Justin[]

Noah wanted Justin to forgive Melissa for outing him.[7] so Justin hated him and assumed that he wanted to talk about Melissa whenever he approached him[26][92] and Justin became furious with Elliot when he learned that Elliot and Noah had talked about Melissa.[93] However, Ellen managed to persuade Justin to let Noah ask his question[32][94] and during the fight against the summoned dragon they became friendlier.

Justin realized that Noah was the superhero with the shadowy disguise[95] and didn't tell his friends.[96]

Elliot[]

Noah and Elliot regularly played basketball together after they met[23][91][58] but they met less often when the winter made it impossible to play basketball.[97]

Noah sees Elliot as a hero for rescuing Justin from a fight soon after Justin was outed.[30]

Grace[]

Noah likely hero-worships Grace for defeating Damien[11][54] but hasn't talked to her about it because Raven wants him to keep his secrets.[58]

Appearance[]

Noah looks androgynous, with neck-length blond hair that usually conceals his left eye. He has seyunolu antennae on the back of his head,[56][5] which he usually ties into a ponytail so that they look like part of his hair. When he was a child, his left eye was big and black, like an uryuom's eyes,[5] but at the present both of his eyes looks human.[23]

Abilities[]

Athletic prowess[]

Noah only barely lost the race at Swedekea to Elliot[98] and thought he could have won if he went all out despite Elliot's ability that Noah himself found impressive.[23] When Noah and Elliot played basketball they were evenly matched, which surprised Justin, and Elliot suspected that Noah was holding back.[99]

Shadow disguise[]

Noah can transform to a shadowy figure for combat.[40] The combat form is armed with tonfas, likely summoned.[41][43] The form apparently makes video recordings of it glitchy.[100]

If the shadow form with its abilities is human magic, it would have taken serious dedication to gain.[101]

Personality traits[]

Noah has revealed to Justin that he actually has anger management problems, which he controls by speaking quite formally, as this helps him focus.[102] He avoids using contractions, and so far he has only used them when upset[103] or nervous.[104][105]
