Nanase Craft ATCoZ, short for Nanase Craft And The Crypt of Zappiness is the forty sixth story arc in EGS:NP. It started with the EGS:NP Comic for 2018-10-15 and ended with the EGS:NP Comic for 2019-04-05.

It parodies Lara Croft with almost-Nanase and almost-Sarah "crawling" through dungeons full of transformation-related trials.

Summary[]

The storyline starts with Nanase talking to someone about the fact that she was famous enough to star in a book called Nanase and the Hendersons.[1]

Diane made a sales pitch for finding an artifact where she had her minions drop banknotes around her to show how rich she was, which made Nanase enthusiastic.[2] Nanase said that she would charge extra if Diane would use the artifact for evil. Diane said "It depends how you look at it" and Nanase said that she wanted the bonus.[3]

While Nanase was traveling with Sarah in cold weather, Sarah commented on Nanase's outfit, which was shorts over a swimsuit with only a scarf to protect her from the cold. Nanase saw nothing weird about it because she wore a scarf so Sarah asked if the scarf was magical but Nanase denied it.[4] Sarah also commented on Nanase's lack of pockets and Nanase replied that she had Sarah for carrying things.[5]

When they arrived the dungeon Sarah wanted to document the design of the door but Nanase destroyed it with a punch.[6] Nanase said that there had been wolves lying in ambush in other dungeons even though, as Sarah noted, it doesn't make sense for wolves to live in a sealed cave.[7]

Nanase told Sarah that the dungeon would include puzzles that required two people to solve.[8]

The first puzzle involved three circular indentations on the floor and, beyond them, cylinders placed like bowling pins. After Nanase figured out how the puzzle worked she stepped in one of the circles and turned into a ball.[9] She instructed Sarah to shove her toward the pins.[10] When Nanase knocked over the pins and hit the wall behind them, she changed back to normal.[11] Sarah found a passageway that had been hidden by the pins.[12]

In the next room there was another circular indentation on the floor and a switch on the ceiling.[13] When Nanase stepped in the circle she turned into a colorblind lizard woman and a color pattern appeared on the wall. Sarah suggested that the colors meant that Nanase should climb the wall by only touching one color. As Nanase was colorblind,[14] she told Sarah to guide her to climb the green parts of the pattern and avoid the red parts.[15] While Nanase was climbing the wall Sarah wondered what the dungeon was protecting.[16] When Nanase was climbing the ceiling, close to the switch, Sarah accidentally stepped in the circle and changed into a colorblind lizard woman too.[17] Nanase wasn't angry with her.[18] She jumped toward the switch and missed it with her hands[19] but flicked it with her tongue.[20] Nanase and Sarah changed back to normal except for their hair remaining long and their boots still missing. Nanase mentioned that dungeons that steal boots get bad reviews.[21]

Sarah wondered what would have happened if they touched the red parts of the wall and Nanase speculated that it could have been dangerous. In an intermission Elliot, who was in his busty female form from his first date with Ashley, said that whoever touched a red spot would have changed back to human[22] and then, while eating an apple and making sexy poses, explained why Nanase needed to jump to the switch.[23]

Before entering the next room Sarah resolved not to make more mistakes. When she and Nanase entered the room Sarah shrank out of her clothes[24] and Nanase became ditzy.[25] There was a large pair of unbalanced scales in the room along with weights on the floor.[26] When Nanase had put all the weights on the scales they were still not balanced.[27] Sarah instructed Nanase to put her on the scales.[28] Before Nanase did so, Sarah took off the handkerchief that she was using in place of clothes.[29] It succeeded and they changed back to mostly normal except for Nanase remaining as curvaceous as while she was ditzy and losing the shorts that had been replaced by a skirt while she was ditzy.[30]

Dan hired a stereotypical British man to edit clothes onto Sarah (a different outfit for every panel). Nanase praised Sarah for solving the room but Sarah complained about being naked and called the job "the most awkward three thousand dollars I've ever made".[31] Nanase told her that she would actually get three million dollars, or twice that if they came back with the artifact. That made Sarah so happy that she didn't care about clothes.[32] When Sarah got dressed, the stereotypical British man started putting sexy outfits on Sarah and Nanase.[33] Sarah talked about what she would do with her money while Nanase mused about the purpose of the transformations that remained after the dungeon rooms.[34] The stereotypical British man was fired and hammered by Susan while Nanase reminded Sarah that they would make more money if they succeeded in order to make her focus.[35]

In the next room there was a pair of scales. When Nanase and Sarah entered the room the were transformed to look identical except for their hair colors and lost their remaining equipment.[36] Sarah wanted a mirror[37] and Nanase offered to mirror her poses.[38] Then Nanase tested the scales and found that it changed the two of them in opposite ways.[39] She realized that they would have to shrink one of them to fit through a small door and then transform further to go through a passage.[40] There were symbols at the door and Nanase instructed Sarah to dial those symbols on the scales. When Sarah did so and shifted the scales, she shrank tiny and Nanase grew somewhat larger.[41]

After they had shrunk Nanase instead she went through the door. She slid down a slide, was transformed to become extremely curvaceous, and her hips got stuck in a hole.[42] She and Sarah could hear each other even though they weren't close.[43] When Sarah used the scales after dialing the symbols at the place where Nanase was stuck, she became extremely curvaceous herself, which made her happy.[44] Nanase told Sarah that she is cute normally and Sarah reassured her that she doesn't have a problem with how she normally looks.[45] Then Nanase needed Sarah to make her taller to reach a button on the ceiling.[46] After doing so, Sarah noted that she was still taller than normally[47] and in an intermission Elliot confirmed that.[48] After many transformations shown in a montage[49] Nanase came back to the room with the scales and she and Sarah changed back to normal and got their equipment back.[50]

Nanase was suspicious that there would be another challenge because those so far were too easy. Then a fairy who looked like Ashley showed up to congratulate them.[51] The fairy said "Only allies of goodness who drink from the spring of friendship could have bested my trials",[52] which made Nanase even more suspicious.[53] The fairy explained that she made the artifact to use for fun and then, when she realized that it could be dangerous, hid it in a dungeon with the intention that only good people could find it. Nanase asked what artifact this was and the fairy answered that she was referring to the rebalancing scales and was surprised that Nanase didn't know that.[54] She said that the last test was intended to show how the scales could be misused. When Sarah asked what the other figure modifications and clothing changes were for the fairy was embarrassed.[55]

The fairy asked Nanase and Sarah how they could find the dungeon without knowing what the artifact was for and Nanase answered that they were hired to get it,[56] which made the fairy angry. She removed their clothes in order to disarm them, shrank them and asked why their employer wanted the scales, which convinced Nanase that she is good after all.[57] Sarah asked why she needed to remove their clothes as they were too small to use weapons and Nanase told her that she had magical clothes at home that can be used as weapons, which made Sarah happy.[58] Nanase asked the fairy for her name, Circe, and told Circe her own and Sarah's names. She told Circe that she didn't know why their employer wanted the artifact but offered to let her follow them to judge if the employer was worthy.[59] Circe accepted the offer and restored Nanase and Sarah to their normal size.[60] She unsuccessfully tried to open the chest where she had put their clothes while Nanase and Sarah noticed that the chest was unlocked but didn't tell her.[61] Then Circe teleported Nanase and Sarah's clothes onto them but put the wrong clothes on the wrong person.[62] Circe asked for a plane ticket to follow them and Nanase reluctantly agreed to buy one for her.[63]

When Diane, Rhoda and Lucy were waiting for Nanase, they talked about her. Diane and Rhoda admired her but Lucy did not.[64] When Nanase introduced Circe and Circe asked Diane why she wanted the scales, Diane, Rhoda and Lucy were embarrassed.[65] Rhoda wanted to be taller and Lucy wanted to be shorter and Lucy and Diane wanted to trade breast sizes.[66] Circe tried to make them appreciate their differences but Diane said that they had good reasons and pointed out that the magic was safe and reversible.[67] Nanase suggested that they use magic items that she kept at home but Diane asked if those were cursed and Nanase admitted that some of them were.[68] Circe offered to help detect the cursed items and remove the curses. Nanase asked her to move in with her and when Sarah told her that Nanase lives in a mansion, Circe accepted the request.[69] Then Circe offered instructions for the scales and when she pointed out how complicated they were, Diane accepted the offer.[70] After Diane, Lucy and Rhoda had transformed, Nanase told Sarah that she no longer needed to work for her but Sarah wanted to stay with her for adventure and magic.[71]
