Abner[]
Abner is a paranormal investigator who was hired by Sirleck to investigate the immortals Helena and Demetrius. He at first turned down the job because it was impossible but then Voltaire persuaded him to accept it with Voltaire's secret help.[1] After Helena and Demetrius showed up at the mall when Tara was attacking Elliot, Abner reported that the immortals were hunting vampires.[2][3] Abner then told Voltaire that he didn't want to do more for him without knowing why as he was doubting the morality of Voltaire's plan, and Voltaire said that he didn't need Abner to do more for him.[1]
He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2016-04-15.
AJ[]
AJ[4] is a student at Moperville South High School. He cut the lunch queue in front of Rhoda[5] and when she confronted him he claimed that he hadn't seen her and refused to give up his place in front of her[6] until he was intimidated by Rhoda's magic power which he subconsciously sensed.[7]
AJ has a spell that visualizes people as sexualized anime women and gives him information about their Magickal Gatherings decks.[8][9][10] Though it is intended for cheating, it only gives him a slight advantage.[11] In Hope he took part in a Magickal Gatherings tournament.[12] In the first round of the tournament he was paired with Guy.[4] After AJ won the round with some help from his cheating spell, he used it to look at the other players[13] and Tedd saw him using the spell.[14] In the second round he was paired with George[15] and lost.[16] In the third round he was paired with Jay.[17] When he used his spell to look at Jay, she noticed him casting the spell, which made her angry[18] so that she apparently caused the lights to flicker.[19] AJ didn't notice any connection, however. When she saw what his spell did, she laughed and cried.[20] When they sat down to play, AJ expressed his annoyance with Jay's reaction, which made Jay angry. She described what AJ looked like to his spell, which spooked him so that he tyried to forfeit, but Jay insisted that they should play the game.[21]
He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2021-08-18.
Mr. Alephnull[]
- "It reeks of mystery."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2007-12-17
Mr. Alephnull is the math teacher at Moperville South High School; he tried to solve the mystery of Grace and Ellen with math, apparently getting the correct result by accident. Later, he taught Grace how to answer a scantron test. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2007-12-17.
Andy Debtman[]
Andy Debtman is the host of the series "Man Engulfs Food". When he is about to eat the "Pancake Mount Doom" meal, Grace becomes the fourth person to complete eating it in 25 years. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2010-05-12. He is inspired by Adam Richman.
Archie[]
Archie is young Ellen's love interest in the Second Life dreams that resulted from Nioi's nose-beep. He is a greater chimera, and has antennae in the back, which Kaoli thinks is weird. When Ellen and Archie grew older in the second life dimension, they got into a relationship. Second Life Ellen slept with Archie,[22] despite the fact that he, as a greater chimera, has no interest in sex. This made our Ellen realise she was still uncomfortable about being attracted to men, and led to her decision to pursue a relationship with Nanase in the main dimension. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2004-09-13. He might also be an alternate version of Noah, as both are blond seyunolu with antennae coming out of the back of their heads (both of which have been described as "pigtails").
Bill[]
- "Ha! Yu-Gi-Oh?! Dude, that's kid stuff! Why not play a man's game?"
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2003-03-06
Bill[23] is a junior high student who hangs out with his friends (including Duck and Drake) to play collectible card games at Justin's store. He considers his "cleavage angel" magical gatherings card the closest thing he has to a girlfriend. He has witnessed Justin's illusion techniques,[24] been at the movies at the same time as Tedd and Grace went,[25] bought at least a couple packs of cards from fairy Nanase,[26] and been at the store both when Sarah visited[27] and when a fire summon attacked.[28]
He first appeared in the EGS Sketchbook Comic for 2003-02-28.
Agent Bishop[]
Agent Bishop is a DGB agent. She saved Agent Knight after his wand backfired.[29] When she visited him at a hospital, Knight expressed regret about using a spell that turned out to be less safe than they thought[30] and Bishop replied that their duty to protect the public is too important to care about the safety of criminals. She also left the criminal that Knight had tried to arrest a threatening letter at his house.[31]
She talked to Arthur about why he didn't tell Tedd Verres that they would use Tedd's invention to make weapon spells and Arthur mentioned that she may eventually take over his job.[32]
She and Edward Verres don't get along well.[33]
She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2021-06-02.
Mr. Bleuel[]
Mr. Bleuel is a physics teacher at Moperville South. He doesn't like Nanase because of her blatant disregard for the laws of physics. The character of Mr. Bleuel is a cameo for Darren "Gav" Bleuel, one of Keenspot's founders and author of the comic Nukees. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2005-04-19.
Camdin[]
Camdin is one of Luke's friends at Moperville University who want to find out who Cheerleadra is. He has a spell to transform into smoke.[34] He was unhappy about Luke's failure to learn more about Cheerleadra from Justin and Grace and planned to spy on them with his smoke form spell.[35] Later, when Luke told him about Rhoda and Catalina, other suspected superheroes, Camdin had his group of friends chase them down at night, outside a movie theater, with their hoods up, against Luke's warnings. Catalina then scared Camdin with her cat form so that he ran away and knocked Luke over, which injured Luke's shoulder.[36][37][38]
Camdin and Dave are a year older than Diane and Lucy and dated them 2 years prior to the start of the comic. However, Diane and Lucy do not remember their names, nor who dated which person.[39]
Jay has copied Camdin's smoke form spell.[40]
Camdin first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2018-12-21.
Camelia[]
Camelia is a student at Moperville South High School and has the same gym class as Grace.[41] She has a low opinion of Diane at least prior to Diane denouncing the gossip that had surrounded Diane.[42] She has spikey hair and is friends with a girl with rounded hair who is also in her gym class. Her discussion with her friend about Diane is part of the reason the latter even heard about the reputation she had at school. Camelia believed the rumors that Diane was sleeping around and considered Diane to be a person not worth knowing. Camelia was unaware that her friend was not a virgin[43] and was apologetic when she discovered her slut shaming had caused her friend to withhold the fact that she had lost her virginity out of fear of judgment.[44]
The mocking reaction Camelia and her friends had to Grace's joking comments were the reason the latter sought a means to make it more clear when she was joking. Camelia found Grace to be weird.[45] Camelia later apologized to Grace for her and her friend's remarks and also questioned her if Grace was holding back in gym.[46] When Grace knocked herself out in gym, Camelia was instructed to accompany her to the nurse's office.[47]
She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2018-08-29.
Cecil[]
Cecil is a young man who goes to Moperville North High School and has the same art class as Sarah.[48] He and his unnamed friend talked to Sarah after she appeared in the review show throwing a couch at Elliot when he announced their breakup.[49] He may be interested in dating Sarah but, to his friend's surprise, he wouldn't ask her out that soon after her breakup.[48] After Sarah learned about the rumor that she broke up with Elliot because he is gay, she suspected Cecil, along with the other men who had approached her after the breakup video, of posting it to flirt with her.[50][51] Later she asked him if he knew who posted it but he didn't know.[52]
He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2013-10-15.
Conan[]
Conan is a student at Moperville South High School and has the same gym class as Grace.[53] He overheard Grace talking to Camelia about spiking a volleyball and asked if she could spike it harder than him. He was surprised when she answered "probably", since he is a head taller than her and visibly very muscular, and challenged her to a volleyball spiking contest.[54] The contest ended with Grace spiking the ball hard enough to knock herself out after it bounced three times and he later apologized for suggesting the contest.[55] His muscular physique is typical for his mom's side of the family and required minimal effort on his part to achieve.[56]
He first appeared in the EGS:NP Comic for 2021-01-29.
Dave[]
Dave is a friend of Camdin and a student at Moperville University. He was marked by Pandora[57] with a Magic mark that is shaped like a circle with a rectangle over the right half which inverts the black and white parts of the circle.[58]. This mark gives him the power to transform into various human forms, but he also gets whatever personality he believes is appropriate to the form. This personality has been known to cause him embarrassment when he changes back.[59]
Dave and Camdin are a year older than Diane and Lucy and dated them 2 years prior to the start of the comic. However, Diane and Lucy do not remember their names, nor who dated which person.[39]
Derek[]
Derek has been seen only once, with Diane as she eavesdropped on a conversation between Sarah and Nanase near the end of End of an Era Part 1.[60] He's the only one of Diane's string of meaningless dates we've seen or identified as of yet. Clueless, he seems.
Dick[]
- "This guy's as wacked out as that one crazy chick."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2008-06-13
Dick is a student at Moperville North seen making fun of Tedd alongside Tony. He also made fun of Susan and didn't care what her name was, and he was not sorry after Tedd made his speech defending her. According to Dan, his name pretty much sums him up, and since it's an actual name some people have, Dan can get away with naming him Dick. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2006-08-07.
Drake[]
- "NANASE IS HERE!!!"
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2003-03-05
Drake is a junior high student who hangs out with his friends (including Duck and Bill) to play collectible card games at Justin's store. He is a proud member of the Nanase fan club. He swooned at first seeing Melissa.[61] Grace starting to work in the shop didn't escape his attention.[62]
In the non-canon Fun at Work NP story arc he caught Grace at her change blindness experiments.[63]
He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2003-03-05.
Duck[]
- "Oh, and thanks for the bikini peek, Nanase."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2003-03-12
Duck is a junior high student who hangs out with his friends (including Bill and Drake) to play collectible card games at Justin's store. His unusual nickname is derived from the hat he wears that makes him look like a duck and once had the word "duck" on it (no relation to the Demonic Duck). Duck has (or at least had) the habit of using the word "gay" as a derogatory term for anything he doesn't like or deems uncool. Upon discovering that Justin is gay, he apologizes for this, stating that people shouldn't be looked down upon just because they're different; the X-Men have taught him well.
After over hearing Nanase talk about her girlfriend, Duck told his friends that the dream of dating Nanase was over but something magical had taken its place.[64] Grace starting to work in the shop didn't escape his attention.[62]
In the non-canon Fun at Work NP story arc he caught Grace at her change blindness experiments.[65]
He first appeared in the EGS Sketchbook Comic for 2003-02-28.
Dwight[]
Dwight is a griffin that Elliot, Grace and Mr. Verres met in the forest while waiting for Andrea and Dame Tara. He is one of two guards of the entryway to the Moperville side of the Main Universe from the Other half of the Main Universe, who crossed into the Moperville side to retrieve Liam when Virginia said that Liam was under mind control, even though he didn't believe it.[66] Upon his arrival, he addressed Liam as "Lord Tyrant Slayer" and referred to Grace as "that".[66] He has cockatoo features. He claims that the summoned magic arms that Liam had used while chasing Grace is something that even griffin babies figure out how to do.[67] When he saw Virginia holding Elliot's cell phone, he threatened her with a fireball.[68] After Edward took away the fireball,[69] Dwight said that Uryuoms tried to take over the world with technology,[70] which led to an argument about the history of the uryuoms in their world[71] that ended in Liam convincing Dwight to reconsider his prejudice against uryuoms.[72]
He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2022-04-27.
Elijah[]
Elijah is one of students attending the party in Family Tree. He's big fan of the "Teen girl detectives" (that is, Nanase and Ellen). He occasionally does a fanboyish squee.[73][74] He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2013-05-31. He generally appears with Rick and they seem to be a couple.
Beta Ellen[]
- "Tedd, what're you doing? There are better ways for us to take advantage of your father being out of town..."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2002-07-23
Beta Ellen is the alternate of Elliot in the "beta" dimension. She is not Ellen's alternate, since there is no male Elliot in the beta universe, so Beta Ellen was not created by the Dewitchery Diamond. She is in a relationship with Beta Tedd and first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2002-07-23.
Eric[]
- "This dojo is nothing but lies!"
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2010-08-18
Eric is a former student of the ASMA Dojo. He had an argument with Sensei Greg about the effectiveness of the training in achieving magical abilities. He later returned and confronted Greg, intending to spar with him in an effort to settle the score with him, but was interrupted by the appearance of a fire summon. He ran screaming from the dojo upon the arrival of Dex. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2010-08-18.
Felix[]
- "I sound so cute!"
—EGS:NP Comic for 2017-03-01
Felix is a friend of Kitty's, whom Kitty talked to after losing track of Rhoda and Catalina, and then accidentally turned into a catgirl. Felix didn't object and in fact had wanted just that: Pandora stated that Felix "is less into transforming people and is more just a trans woman" and then probably gave Felix her own mark.[75] Felix first appeared in the EGS:NP Comic for 2017-02-27.
Francine[]
Francine is a janitor at Moperville South. She was briefly possessed by Sirleck as an intermediary host between the butler to the rich old man he possessed when he was first seen and Ellen. Judging from "Francine's" appearances in the background while Ellen was with her friends,[76][77] Sirleck was waiting for Ellen to be alone and was discretely following her around throughout the day. Given that Francine is last seen in one of the women's bathrooms,[78] it seems Sirleck switched to possessing Ellen while in said bathroom, leaving Francine to wake up and recover from his possession. Judging from the fact that Francine's coworker Brad is seen looking for her 30 minutes after school ended for the day, it took a long while for Francine to recover from Sirleck's possession, in contrast to the few minutes Ellen needed to do the same.
Gary[]
- "Phew! Well, ain't that a boost to my fragile ego!"
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2011-08-29
Gary is an ex-boyfriend of Nanase who works at a restaurant. He thought Nanase dumped him because he was too geeky, but Nanase later claimed to him that it was entirely because she was a lesbian. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2011-08-29.
Gerald[]

I just tell it like it is."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2011-09-29
Gerald is a student who goes to Moperville South. He is an ex-boyfriend of Nanase and resents her for being a lesbian. Nanase went on a couple of dates with him. According to her, he likes arguing and dresses gothically and androgynously to provoke verbal fights. Tedd interpreted Nanase's description of Gerald positively, describing him as "like a Venus flytrap that catches bullies" until meeting him and yelling at him for being a jerk. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2011-08-02.
Guy[]
Guy[79] (formerly called "Some Guy" in narration[80]) is a regular of the Magickal Gatherings tournaments at Salty Crackers Comics.
He arrived for the tournament shown in Squirrel Prophet at the last minute along with Sam and two other players.[81] In the first round of the tournament he played against Mr. Tensaided[80] and in the fourth and last round he played against George.[82] Guy won the tournament.[83]
Before the tournament shown in Hope, Guy and Sam again arrived just before the tournament, but not at the last minute, as Sam's girlfriend Sarah insisted that they should arrive earlier.[84] He played a cow deck.[8] In the first round of the tournament he was paired with AJ[4] and lost.[85] In the second round he was paired with Hope[86] and won.[87]
Mr. Guyur[]
Mr. Guyur was an uryuom scientist attached to Project Lycanthrope who had a unique physical abnormality which allowed him to produce viable uryuom eggs without the aid of another of his kind. These eggs were consequently used to create Grace and her brothers. Mr. Guyur (whose name translates as 'tail') was eventually murdered by Damien. Damien's callous disregard for Guyur, whom Grace considers her uryuom father, caused her to attack Damien at the climax of the Painted Black arc. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2003-09-10.
Grace Sciuridae[]
Grace Sciuridae is the name used to refer to the "original" Grace, the daughter of Dr. Sciuridae. She was killed in a car crash at the age of eighteen. Her blood was used to replace that of a strong male human that was to be used in the creation of Shade Tail, resulting in Grace who adopted her full name and considers her her human mother. She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2003-10-10.
Hanma[]
Hanma is an Immortal who first appeared in the non-canon story Goonmanji 2, but was repeatedly mentioned to be canon herself[88][89][90] and shown in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2018-07-30.
She is young, although not as freshly reset as Zeus,[91] whom she greatly admires for The Hammers - "Hanma" is supposed to be Japanese for "hammers". She reset to isolation, then happened upon an anime convention and found purpose in Japanese pop culture.[92]
Heka[]
- "And I would love to call your kind by your preferred name, but seeing as you've gone with "immortal" as though you were the only ones, you remain fairies to me."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2017-04-05
Heka is the name or possibly the title/role/job description of the guardian of the library Pandora tried to look for answers about Tedd and the Magic change in.

Jim Tolkiberry[]
Jim Tolkiberry is the proprietor of Salty Crackers Comics and Justin's uncle. He interviewed Grace for a job at his store, and told her the story of how he hired Justin. His mustache is quite the conversational piece. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2012-05-25.
Kaoli[]
Alpha Kaoli is the duplicate of Nioi and, like Ellen, was created by the Dewitchery Diamond. Like with Ellen, Nioi also bestowed a "Second Life" on Kaoli (presumably also via a magic nose beep) to age her soul so it would match her body. She had been putting off helping Kaoli because she didn't want her to experience the second life alone, and Ellen provided the solution. So far her only appearance is in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2006-05-05.
Second Life Kaoli is a very kind, friendly person, and made friends with Second Life Ellen right off the bat. She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2004-09-06.
Kitty[]
- "I swear, there were two shrunk cat girls running around!"
—EGS:NP Comic for 2017-02-27
Kitty is a girl who is obsessed with catgirls, and chased Rhoda and Catalina (while they were shrunk, disguised and catgirls) in the EGS:NP storyline Escape From The Mall part 3. After Rhoda shook her off, she was marked by Pandora,[94] and accidentally transformed her friend Felix into a catgirl. She first appeared in the EGS:NP Comic for 2017-01-04.
Agent Knight[]
Agent Knight[29] is a DGB agent. He was first seen trying to arrest a man for magical vandalism. When the suspect refused to submit to the arrest,[95] Knight tried to shoot him with his magic wand but the spell backfired.[96] He was badly injured since the spell was stronger than normal and he was saved by his partner, Agent Bishop.[29] In his hospital room he told Bishop that he was happy that the spell didn't kill the suspect and that he was concerned about the spell not being as safe as they previously thought.[30]
He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2021-04-09.
Liam[]
Liam Tyrant Slayer is a griffin that Elliot, Grace and Edward Verres met in the forest while waiting for Andrea and Dame Tara. In order to have an excuse to get the guard of the portal from his side of the world to the Moperville side away from his post so that Saou, Mist and Potestas could cross the portal for a revolutionary mission, and to have a technically true cover story to fool the truth orbs, he arranged[97] to have himself under mind control that compelled him to attack royalty but still left him with enough awareness to cross the portal to get away from the royalty of his world and seek help from Tara and Andrea.[98] Unfortunately, Edward accompanied Elliot, so Liam sensed him as royalty and attacked him.[99] He was subdued and freed of the mind control by Elliot using his villain Cheerleadra form.[100] He has owl and lion features.
He is named for Elim Garak from Star Trek Deep Space 9.[101]
He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2022-03-16.
Assistant Director Liefeld[]
- "I'm promoting you to head of paranormal diplomacy."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2010-01-19
Assistant Director Liefeld is an extremely beefy man who works in the same government agency as Edward Verres. He first appeared when he promoted Mr. Verres to "head of paranormal diplomacy", an office that hadn't previously existed. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2010-01-19.
When he found out that Verres let his son Tedd have access to the transformation gun, he ordered Verres to take it away from Tedd[102] but Edward persuaded to let Tedd keep the transformation gun in order to program clone forms that the government would give to the uryuoms.[103][104]
Mark[]

Matt Cohen[]
- "Well, that certainly wasn't my intention."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2012-03-16
Matt William Cohen is the Student Body President of Moperville North, who appears to have developed a crush on Susan after her outburst following the announcement of the new school dress code. On May 27, he asked her out on a date. He is named after Matt Groening, David X. Cohen, and Billy West.[107] He delivers pizza despite being only 17 (as of Grace's birthday, at least), a single year under the age requirement for delivering things by car. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2005-03-18.
Mist[]
Mist[108] (originally called Mystucorn in narration[109]) is a part unicorn, part human Tulougol Seyunolu who is a revolutionary from the other half of the Main Universe who is on the side where Moperville is on a revolutionary mission along with Saou and Potestas. They crossed the portal between the worlds[110] while Dwight, one of the guards of the portal, was away from his post because of a distraction arranged by Liam.[97] They are planning to steal a royal aura, presumably in order to lead a revolution back home;[111] thus Mist is looking for royal-level magic users with his dream magic.[111][112]
Once he tried to check everyone in Moperville in one night using ambient magic energy[113][112] but he only managed to check one shared dream since he got stuck in it.[114] Susan, Jay, Grace, Rhoda and Catalina were pulled into into that dream. The dream was modified by the dream magic of the dreamers,[115] specifically Jay[109] and Grace.[116] In the dream he found Catalina[115] and then other dreamers.[117] He asked them who had dream magic,[118] told them what he was doing and complained that he could only see silhouettes of the dreamers.[119] Then he saw that Rhoda is royalty,[120] and asked her who she is – but since she wasn't a lucid dreamer she only knew who she was in the dream. The villains of the dream ordered each other to kill Mist and he made them vanish since they weren't real people.[121] That made Jay angry[122] (since the main villain was based on Arthur,[123] her grandfather[124]) and she almost attacked him[125] but Mist convinced her that it wasn't the real Arthur.[126] Then he tried to interrogate Rhoda again but Jay pinched her cheek to wake herself and end the dream in order to protect Rhoda,[127] which succeeded in breaking the spell.[128][109]
He first appeared in the EGS:NP Comic for 2020-12-17.
Panicked Schoolgirl[]
- "I just saw an evil monkey at Moperville North High School!!"
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2008-08-04
The Panicked Schoolgirl (also known as the Screaming Blonde Girl) is a student of Moperville North High School. She is not someone you want to be anywhere near in a crisis. Quick to panic, she'll manage to cause the crowd to run around in blind panic in just seconds. She has animal control on speed dial; raccoons sometimes get in her attic.[129] She may have been the Theater Clerk's only catch. She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2002-10-12.
Phil[]
Phil is one of Carol Brown's (or possibly Channel 4 News') cameramen, along with Steve[130] (who's only had off-screen dialogue). He could possibly be Steve's replacement. Phil is not to be confused with another one-off named character named Phill[131] (note the two "l"s). He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2015-10-23.
Dr. Physics Professor[]
Dr. Physics Professor is an unspecified professor probably from Moperville. He was twice noted to be crying, seemingly because he had sensed things that were physically impossible - namely, the existence of a fire summon which was identified as solid fire that doesn't burn[132] and that fire summon being extinguished by water despite not being actually on fire.[133] Later, he was interviewed by Rich about the Taurcanis Draco incident.[134] Dan says the professor sort of looks like he's dressed as the Eleventh Doctor from Doctor Who, but that this was unintentional.
Mr. Pompoms's mistress[]
Mr. Pompoms' mistress was a woman whom a very young Susan found her father cheating on her mother with. The fact that Mr. Pompoms' mistress is a blonde is a large factor in Susan's decision to dye her hair.
Since her appearance in a flashback in the After Party is titled "The Other Woman With Susan's Face," there is a possibility she could be Diane's birth mother (but evidently not Susan's[135]). On the other hand, memory is fallible and Susan has gone to great lengths for most of her life not to look like the woman she found with her father. She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2004-08-13.
Rick[]
Rick is a college student who has known Diane and her adopted sister Rhea for a long time, at least since Diane was six. He is gay[136] and his partner is most likely Elijah, another college student. His first appearance was in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2013-05-31.
Rhea[]
Rhea is Diane's adoptive older sister. After Ellen and Nanase solved the mystery of the Haunted Locker Room, she invited them to her New Year's party. She first appeared in the Family Tree story line in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2013-05-08.
To continue the theme with naming Rhoda, Lucy and Diane after sitcom characters, she was named after the actress who played Diane's coworker, Carla, on Cheers.[137][138]
Ronin[]
"Ronin" is the not yet named friend of Tony shown several times with him, trying to be politically correct[139] but apparently missing the point of why people are supposed to be politically correct. In Identity, someone using the screen name "Ronin and some numbers" wrote an unbelievably long comment without a single spelling or punctuation error[140] under one of the internet video reviews Susan and Elliot had made, starting the rumor that Elliot broke up with Sarah because he is gay. Characters - mainly Sarah - tried, without success, to find the identity of the person, but at the end of the storyline it was shown that it had been this not yet named friend of Tony.[141] He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2002-09-23.
Sandi[]
Sandi is a stereotypical blond girl who speaks in a valley girl accent. She is the girlfriend of Tony, and a member of Susan's feminist group. She left the group after it became unpopular and more demanding, but joined again when Tedd yelled at the students for not supporting Susan's attempts at uniform reform. She isn't unintelligent, but she appears to be very naive. She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2008-05-07.
Saou and Potestas[]
Saou[112] is the leader of a group of revolutionaries from the other half of the Main Universe who are on the side where Moperville is on a revolutionary mission. The other members of the group are named Mist and Potestas.[112] They crossed the portal between the worlds[142] while Dwight, one of the guards of the portal, was away from his post because of a distraction arranged by Liam.[97] They are planning to steal a royal aura, presumably in order to lead a revolution back home[111] to make Saou king;[108] thus Mist is looking for royal-level magic users with his dream magic.[111][112]
Science Teacher[]
Science Teacher is a teacher at Moperville North High School and the one who instructed Tedd to create the goo that would come to life as the First Goo. He was also the one who suggested to Principal Verrückt to get the sprinklers fixed. He laughed at Elliot while he was female and at the latter's theory that teachers actually cared about their students, but was subdued when faced with Ellen's wrath. He was last seen outside the school shivering in the cold and annoyed at Principal Verrückt's obsession with murals to the exclusion of all else. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2002-01-28.
Ranger Simpson[]
Ranger Simpson is a park ranger for the Moperville Forest Preserve. He didn't like that Rhoda and Catalina found a feral hog in his park, but vowed he would not stop until it was destroyed. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2011-11-11.
Steve (Cameraman)[]
Steve is one of Carol Brown's (or possibly Channel 4 News') cameramen along with Phil. Steve has only had off-screen dialogue.[143] However, a cameraman who is definitely not Phil has been shown, who could potentially be Steve.[144]
Steve (MSHS)[]
Steve is a friend of Jay who goes to Moperville South High School. He likes to gossip, which is why he and Jay get along well.[145] He also frequents Salty Crackers Comics for the Magickal Gatherings tournaments, hanging out with Mark.[105]
Specialist Steve[]
Specialist Steve works under Commander Jaguar. When Vladia first gets her female body, she screams at him. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2004-05-28.
Sybil[]
Sybil is Arthur's secretary. She was present when Arthur was interviewed for TV.[146] She suggested that they should orchestrate a paranormal incident to trigger a magic change.[147] When Arthur was unconscious while the will of magic consulted him and the other seers, Sybil was worried and called for an ambulance.[148] After the events involving Magus at the PTTOLUTASF she said that Magus could be seen as a victim but when Arthur expressed his anger at him she offered to let him speak to Abraham.[149] She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2010-10-25.
Beta Tedd[]
Beta Tedd is Tedd's alternate in the "beta" universe. He is easily distinguished from regular Tedd by the fact that he wears square glasses. Beta Tedd informed the people in the main universe about the existence of Lord Tedd. He has some kind of device that allows for inter-dimensional communication. He is in a relationship with Beta Ellen and first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2002-07-22.
Second Life Tedd[]
Second Life Tedd is Tedd's alternate in the Second Life Universe. He had self loathing issues when he first met Ellen.[150][151] Ellen saw that he was lonely and invited him to play kickball[150] and he did well at the game.[152][151]
Tedd later had a crush on Ellen[153] but Ellen was oblivious to this.[154] When Ellen complained about Archie not wanting to date her, Tedd explained to her that Archie was likely asexual – as many of greater chimeras are – but the only thing Ellen took from the explanation was that he would likely want to cuddle.[155][156]
Not-Tengu[]
Not-Tengu is a magic user responsible for the trouble caused in the Family Tree story line. He's first mentioned as Charlotte's source of information about Guardian forms.[157] Later, he appears in person, surprising Charlotte by actually looking like his forum avatar – and not like an actual Tengu, although that had been his user name. This is the reason, given his actual name is unknown, he is referred to by the nickname Not-Tengu, even by Dan.
During Family Tree, he transforms most of the guests at a party to look like Nanase, taunts her and Ellen into attacking him, chases them when they flee and is ultimately defeated due to them consuming all available magic in the area and revealing his real, human form.[158] He had previously fought Noriko (who is Nanase's aunt and Tedd's mother),[159] and he referred to her as a legendary monster hunter with a long family history of fighting monsters and evil wizards.[160] He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2013-07-10.
He is apparently such a powerhouse that Agent Wolf was surprised that anyone other than Noriko could survive a fight with him[161][160] and yet Edward Verres said that there is nothing special about him, that any average jerk could became just as dangerous.[162]
Terra[]
- "This is what REAL power is, Magus!"
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2007-01-01
Terra is a human from the same unspecified universe as Magus,[163] and an alternate of Tedd.[164] She was only seen in a duel between her and Magus and was surprised when he disappeared. The fight was Magus' attempt to prove that men are physically stronger than women (and that it matters in fights); they both started life as women but Magus changed his default form to male to be stronger. She first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2007-01-01.
Theater Clerk[]
- "Ack! Da playah been played!!!"
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2002-07-12
The Theater Clerk or T.C. is a clerk at the movie theatre, and is a year younger than the main cast.[165] T.C. thinks he's quite the ladies man, calling himself Da Playah, but, in truth, no sane Y-chromosome-lacking human being would even consider going out with him (nor would Y-chromosome-possessing human beings, even if he would be interested). He may have gotten lucky with the Panicked Schoolgirl, but it's doubtful anything actually happened. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2002-02-14.
Bad Tom[]
- "She is no longer the hammer queen. She is something more now."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2014-01-23
The "bad" Tom is a student at Moperville North who tried to date Susan. It was later discovered that he's a manipulative deceptive jerk - partially from Ashley, partially by his own behavior towards Susan. Ashley dated him for two months,[166] Susan figured him out in one day.
He first appeared as a silhouette in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2013-10-14 but was first introduced in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2013-11-14.
Good Tom[]
- "A puppy is in danger."
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2015-03-11
After creating "bad" Tom, Dan felt bad that he named him Tom as opposed to leaving him nameless[167] and decided to introduce another Tom who would be his exact opposite and would be regularly saving puppies from danger. The "good" Tom appeared at end of the Identity story line as someone who was sorry to overhear Susan say "Tom is a jackass".[168] Later he even has his "saving puppies" trait shown on panel,[169] along with his ability to not get involved in Internet comments. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2014-02-18.
Later, his ability to sense when puppies are in danger was revealed to be due to a Mark from Pandora,[170] but still, he yearned for it.
The urteronc[]
The urteronc was originally part of an uryuom army invading Heka's library.[171] Heka damaged or destroyed the urteroncs,[172] and this urteronc later wound up at PTTAOLUTASF. It was reactivated by the evaporating shards of the Dewitchery Diamond and broke out of its crate.[173][174] The urteronc sensed that Ellen had most of the power from the Diamond and when it saw the core of the Diamond, it decided to kill her to keep the power out of human hands.[175] Ellen, who was woken by Ashley's scream, blasted the urteronc out of the building with her new beam spell.[176] The urteronc then fought Magus[177][178] and was defeated.[179] As a result of the urteronc leaving the building, the PTTAOLUTASF's defenses were activated, bringing in DGB agents though magical doorways.[180]
Victor Von Hip[]
- "See, that's why censorship is evil, man. They think they're all protecting you from bad vibes with their censor bars and bleeps and pixilation, but it's really all just a freak out factory, man!"
—EGS Main Story Comic for 2008-04-16
Victor Von Hip is a student at Moperville South. He writes many pamphlets, the topics of which range from censorship to why he is the "Greek God of Pamphlets".[181] From both his style of speech and style of dress, it can be assumed that he is a hippie. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2008-04-16.
Virginia[]
Virginia is an uryuom from the Other half of the Main Universe who is Liam's servant.[182] As part of a plan to get Dwight, one of guards of the portal between the halves of the world, away from his post,[97] she told Dwight that Liam was acting strangely and asked Dwight for help retrieving him.[183] She found Elliot's cell phone and coat and brought them to Liam and Elliot, at which point Dwight threatened her with a fireball for holding a piece of technology;[68] this led to an argument about the history of the uryuoms in their world.[70][184]
Virginia was first mentioned in EGS Main Story Comic for 2022-04-29 and first appeared on-panel in EGS Main Story Comic for 2022-05-16.
Principal Washington[]
Principal Washington is the principal of Moperville South. He appears to be a bit more level-headed than Principal Verrückt, despite his students including magic users, female duplicates, part squirrels, and unnecessarily mysterious guys with strange hair. On top of that, he also has some strange characters in his staff! Originally his character had an eye patch and horrible scarring,[185] but Dan decided against it. He first appeared in the EGS Main Story Comic for 2008-02-22 ("Why the Raven Has Perched").
