Goonmanji 2 is the thirty eighth storyline chapter in EGS:NP. It started with EGS:NP Comic for 2017-07-31 and ended with EGS:NP Comic for 2017-09-11. It shows Hanma coming up with a magical board game and inviting Susan to playtest it. The storyline continues in subsequent chapters.

Summary[]

The storyline begins with the narrator describing the immortals Pandora and Voltaire and introducing the new immortal Hanma, who is an otaku.[1]

Hanma asked Zeus to re-enable the hammers since he is Jerry's successor but he refused,[2] partly because he can't since he is too young, but he suggested that Hanma do it herself.[3] Hanma realized that she was too young for that too and came up with other ideas for artifacts that would do things inspired by anime.[4] Eventually she came up with an idea she liked and decided that she needed guidance on morality.[5]

Then she introduced herself to Susan at Tensaided's video rental store and told her that she named herself for hammers.[6] Susan suggested that she instead name herself for a character who uses hammers so Hanma came up with "Akane Hanma-chan".[7] Then Hanma told Susan why she was seeking her out.[8] Susan asked why she was chosen and since the reason was not in-universe (the playtesters, including Susan, were chosen by a Patreon poll[9][10]) she thought about the fourth wall and then winked at the readers while saying "Because cannons".[11] Susan said that Japanese honorifics should not be used to refer to oneself.[12] That made Hanma sad and she talked about what anime fandom means to her.[13]

Then Hanma told Susan that her idea for an artifact was a boardgame that would transform unsuspecting players.[14] Susan said that she needed informed consent from the players.[15] Then Rick and Elijah interrupted them because they wanted to rent a movie.[16]

Later, at Susan's house, Hanma and Susan talked about Hanma's idea for an infatuation mechanic for the game. Susan thought it was a bad idea. After watching the Harry Potter movies Hanma agreed not to use an infatuation mechanic and instead decided to use an attraction mechanic.[17] After they had finished designing the game, Hanma asked Susan to playtest the game and told Susan that she had chosen the other playtesters, again winking at the readers.[18] The other players were Rhoda, Catalina and Ashley (who was shown with a halo).[19] The thought of Catalina and her girlfriend playing a game with an attraction mechanic together made Susan flustered.[20]
