Ellen Demo is the thirty-seventh storyline (or rather the thirty-seventh storyline chapter) in EGS:NP. It started with EGS:NP Comic for 2017-05-22 and ended with EGS:NP Comic for 2017-07-28. It shows Ellen's spells.

Summary[]

The storyline starts with the narrator saying that Elliot is bad at checking his spellbook while Ellen is better at it, though Ellen explained that it's because Nanase reads it for her. Then the narrator announced that Ellen's spells would be revealed.[1]

First Ellen demonstrated her standard FV5 on Rich, Larry and herself when Rich and Larry were ogling Nanase.[2] The next strip showed that there is a limit to how much the FV5 spell can resize someone by default but Ellen can override that limit with extra effort. This was demonstrated on two Gregs.[3] Then Ellen demonstrated her double FV5 spell on Rich and Larry.[4] Then she demonstrated a variant of FV5 which doesn't change height or hair length. She demonstrated it on Justin, who asked her to transform him to help him sell more at Salty Crackers Comics.[5]

Then Ellen demonstrated her copy spell by changing into Diane to prank her.[6] Then she demonstrated her scan and paste spells by transforming Diane to look like Nanase. She also demonstrated that she can transform multiple people with the paste spell by turning herself and two other people (Grace and Justin according to the commentary) into Diane.[7] It was explained that the copy and paste spells cannot copy specal abilities such as Grace's transformation and Elliot's Cheerleadra form's flight, and that Nanase's guardian form is an exception.[8] Then Ellen demonstrated her fusion paste spell by turning Diane partly into Nanase and Susan partly into Justin.[9] Then Ellen demonstrated her melting pot spell by transforming into a fusion of Sarah and Grace. Sarah and Grace wanted the resulting form to be made canon.[10]

Then Ellen demonstrated her flashlight spell.[11]

Then Ellen demonstrated her shrink spell by shrinking Diane. The spell can only shrink to half the volume. Rhoda demonstrated that her shrink spell can shrink much smaller than that by shrinking Ellen.[12]

Ellen can make spells change people's clothes with them by a specifice hand gesture. She demonstrated it with the FV5 spell on Nanase.[13] If Ellen uses the hand gesture with a spell that changes clothes by default, like the shrink spell, the spell will not change the target's clothes. She demonstared this by shrinking Justin.[14]

Then others of Ellen's transformation spells were shown: shorter (demonstrated on Susan), taller (demonstrated on Sarah), fat (demonstrated on Nanase) and blond (demonstrated on Rhoda).[15]

It was explained that Ellen's beam spells cancel each other out by default but she can combine them, which she demonstrated by combining the FV5 and shrink spells on bad Tom. Before she did that, Rhoda shrunk her and then Rhoda and Catalina turned her into a fat catgirl by combining their spells.[16] Then it was clarified that the fat forms are not intended to look pregnant.[17] Then Ellen demonstrated combined transformations with more transformation spells. She combined the taller and shorter spells on Susan (which did nothing), taller and shrinking on Sarah, fat and muscular on Nanase, and blond and FV5 on Rhoda. To make up for Susan not being transformed on the first try, Ellen transformed her with combined shrink and FV5 spells.[18]

Ellen can make her spells use less energy and change no one not directly hit.[19] Ellen can make spells harder to stop with spell resistance in the same way as she combines spells and casts double FV5.[20]

Ellen's spells could not change Grace's clothes since Grace was not enchanted but simply transformed[21] (this may bo longer hold after the magic change).

It was explained that Ellen's non-beam spells, such as copy and paste, are not affected by hand poses.[22] Also, such spells do not cancel out with beam spells but can be combined with them, which was demonstrated by transforming Rhoda into Susan and then with FV5 and by transforming Catalina with FV5 and then into Diane.[23] Non-beam spells can be combined with double beam spells, which was demonstrated by transforming Sarah first into Nanase and then tall and FV5 and by first making Diane tall and muscular and then transforming her into Elliot.[24] The possibilities of combining Ellen's spells were then summarized and Rhoda demonstrated that other people's spells can also be combined with Ellen's spells by shrinking Sarah, who was already transformed with Ellen's paste spell (into Nanase) and the tall and FV5 spells.[25]

Then it was explained that Ellen can't copy enchanted forms with the copy and scan spells but, with extra effort, can copy enchanted people's default forms, which was shown by Ellen copying Tedd's form while Tedd was in a fat fox form in order to find out who she was.[26] That was retconned in the next strip because Ellen has copied Nanase's guardian form and the only thing that was exceptional about that was that she copied the form's abilities. Instead enchanted forms can be copied with the copy spell but not scan.[27]

Then it was clarified that the contagious transformation spell, mentioned in Sister 3. part 15, can only use as much energy as Ellen uses when casting it, not additional ambient energy, and thus can only transform so many people.[28] It is not a separate spell but a modifier to Ellen's beam spells. Its range depends on whether it can spread through people.[29]

The narrator wrapped up the storyline by saying that readers were still confused and Ellen transformed herself with her FV5 spell.[30]
