| Either I was just being silly, or I was seriojusly considering drawing a more realistic style in a fantasy sequence in part II of Grace's Birthday Party. I homnestly can't remember, and it acually took me a minute to realize that the two more realistic drawings weren't of Ellen (the black dress confused me in spite of the hair). What I do know for certain, however, is that the "chibi" versions of female Elliot and male Sarah appeared AFTER the more realistic versions in my sketchbook; this suggest that I really was considering a more realistic style for the sequence at some point. One thing that changed from my original ideas for the party is the aspect of Elliot and Sarah. I reached a point where I found that my ideas for their role post-transformation fell flat in my opinion, so I decided to make it so Sarah and Elliot would be very attracted to each other while transformed. Attraction isn't a deviation from the norm for them, but feeling it for each other while transformed certainly makes it feel that way (particularly Sarah, who has never been male and attracted to women before). |
